One of the groups, Unity Foundation, is hosting the program on their regularly produced television series, Positive Spin. The other group, Species Alliance, produced the video, entitled “Call of Life: Facing the Mass Extinction” which can be seen at their website: http://speciesalliance.org/video.php . The short video provides visually persuasive information and thought provoking context to an impending event not seen in 65 million years. Advisors such as Paul Ehrlich and Richard Leakey provide brief commentary.
Rather than an asteroid causing a mass extinction, it is now humankind behind this unfolding tragedy. Orangutans, like other species, have obviously been caught up in the global phenomena of climate change and ecosystem collapse. Yet there is hope we can also avert this disaster in the making.
