Monday November 13th 2006 -- Medan, Sumatra -- This was a slow day, much to do, however the power was out for much of the day. I was feeling under the weather for the first time on this trip, perhaps as a result of dense second hand smoke coupled with the heat and a not so great massage at the hotel. The plans for the Conference, Workshop and Summit were finalized. We headed back to the hotel ....

Since I was not feeling so good I stayed in the room and caught up on my sleep. Dr. Gary met with Madelaine Westwood from GAFI (Great Ape Film Initiative). Madelaine had flown in from the UK just for the conference. She had to leave on Thursday due to commitments back in England.
